Dr. Megha Thakur

Dr. Megha Thakur is a Senior Research Associate at the JSW Centre for Climate Change and Health. She holds a PhD in Public Health from Maastricht University, where her doctoral research, supported by the Netherlands Organization for Scientific Research (NWO), examined the impact of low-smoke cooking interventions on respiratory health in urban slums in India. She is also an alumna of the Young Experts Programme (YEP) – Energy, led by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

At the Centre, Dr Thakur contributes to evidence generation on climate-sensitive health risks through research studies, technical reports, and monographs. She also supports capacity building through trainings, workshops, and expert roundtables, and contributes to programme development by preparing training materials, technical resources, and research proposals to advance climate and health action.
