Prof. Sulabha Akarte

Prof. Sulabha Akarte is presently serving as Advisor to the Dean, MGM Medical College, Panvel, District Raigad, Maharashtra, a constituent unit of MGMIHS (Deemed to be University), Navi Mumbai. She is a graduate (MBBS) and postgraduate (MD in Preventive and Social Medicine) from Government Medical College, Nagpur. A seasoned medical and public health professional, academician, researcher, and administrator, she has over 40 years of experience working with both government and private medical colleges. Dr. Akarte has been associated with various national and international health and research organizations, contributing significantly to public health research, health program implementation and evaluation, capacity building, and advancements in medical education. Her notable contributions include work in geriatrics, the Longitudinal Ageing Study in India, home-based palliative care, and risk reduction in HIV. She is an active member of several professional associations and has authored more than 20 research publications.
