NCDC workshop on Climate Resilient Health Facilities and Infrastructure

The CRHFI workshop, held on 02 December 2025, brought together multidisciplinary experts to develop strategies and policy recommendations for strengthening the climate resilience of healthcare infrastructure in India against climate-related hazards such as extreme heat, floods, landslides, wildfires, and droughts. The discussions focused on identifying system vulnerabilities, reviewing global best practices, and examining climate-adaptive building codes and retrofitting approaches relevant to Indian health facilities.

The workshop also reviewed implementation experiences under the Green and Climate-Resilient (GCR) components of the National Program on Climate Change and Human Health (NPCCHH), identified key gaps and challenges, and explored opportunities across thematic areas. It emphasized actionable solutions to improve energy efficiency, climate-smart design, green operations, and water management, while highlighting innovations, technologies, and collaborative models to support the transition towards resilient and sustainable health systems through multisectoral engagement.
