The JSW Centre for Climate Change and Health was pleased to participate in Heatwaves and Human Health: Fast-Tracking Prevention and Action, a roundtable convening that brought together national and state leaders, health partners, researchers, and innovators to advance practical and scalable solutions for reducing heat-related health risks across India.
The convening focused on identifying actionable pathways for strengthening preparedness and response to extreme heat events through collaboration, partnerships, and cross-learning.
Discussions were organised around five thematic groups covering key dimensions of heat-health action: proven interventions in practice; translating policy into programmes; strengthening resources, capacities, and systems readiness; exploring innovation frontiers and emerging opportunities; and developing monitoring and evaluation frameworks to measure impact.
As extreme heat events continue to intensify across the country, such platforms play an important role in fostering dialogue, sharing evidence and experiences, and accelerating collective action towards climate-resilient health systems.
The Centre is grateful to Scope Impact for the invitation and for creating a valuable space to exchange ideas and insights with a diverse group of stakeholders committed to advancing climate and health action in India.
