National Consultation Workshop on the Development of India’s National Health

Ms. Manushi Sharma and Dr. Megha Thakur from the JSW Centre for ClimateChange and Health participated in the National Consultation Workshop on theDevelopment of India’s National Health Adaptation Plan for Extreme WeatherEvents, convened by the National Programme on Climate Change and HumanHealth (NPCCHH), NCDC, on 8 September 2026.The consultation brought together experts and stakeholders to advance a national framework for preparing the health sector to respond to the growing risks posed by extreme weather events. Discussions explored priority areas for action, strategies to build climate-resilient health systems, and the critical need to strengthen the connection between early warning systems and timely, evidence-based action. JSW Centre for Climate Change and Health is pleased to be part of this important national effort and looks forward to contributing to the development of a robust and actionable approach to protecting health in a changing climate.
