WHO-SEARO, Collaborative Solutions for Climate and Health

On 26 August 2026, Prof. Preeti Negandhi represented the JSW Centre for Climat Change and Health, PHFI, at a discussion on Collaborative Solutions for Climate and Health. The convening brought together representatives from the WHO Regional Office for South-East Asia (WHO SEARO), M. S. Swaminathan Research Foundation, Institute of Philanthropy, Temasek Foundation, and The Rockefeller Foundation.

During the discussion, Prof. Negandhi highlighted the Centre’s comprehensive approach to climate-health action, spanning evidence generation, policy translation, regional dialogues, roundtables, public awareness initiatives, and capacity building. She underscored the Centre’s commitment to strengthening capacities and translating knowledge across a range of stakeholder groups, including government officers, programme managers, medical and postgraduate students, and school
children.

The discussion reaffirmed the importance of cross-sector collaboration in bridging research and policymaking. Prof. Negandhi emphasized the need to translate evidence into actionable policy outcomes and to build sustained capacity for climate and health action across institutions and communities.
