Dr. Sundeep Salvi

Dr. Sundeep Salvi (MD, DTCD, DNB, PhD (UK), FCCP (USA), FICS, Hon FRCP (London)) is the Director of the Pulmocare Research and Education (PURE) Foundation, Pune, and Distinguished Professor of Research at Symbiosis International University, Pune. He is the former President of the Indian Chest Society (2023–2024) and serves on several prestigious international and national scientific bodies, including the Board of Directors of the Global Initiative for Chronic Obstructive Lung Disease (GOLD) and the Scientific Committee of the Global Initiative for Asthma (GINA). He is the Chair of the Chronic Respiratory Diseases Section of the Global Burden of Disease, India (since 2015), and a member of the Steering Committee on Air Pollution and Health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Dr. Salvi has published more than 250 scientific papers and has received numerous recognitions, including the American Thoracic Society World Lung Health Award in 2024. He has been ranked the No. 1 respiratory scientist in India for six consecutive years and is placed 36th globally among 68,788 respiratory scientists, according to Stanford University rankings.
