Professor Rajesh Nair

Prof. Rajesh Nair is a public health professional, academician, and researcher with over 27 years of experience in public health practice, biomedical and health systems research, teaching, capacity building, and programme implementation. He holds a Ph.D. in Health Psychology and Master’s in Public Health. He completed a prestigious fellowship on HIV, Public Health, and Program Delivery at the Sydney Medical School, The University of Sydney under the Australian Leadership Award Fellowship (ALAF), and received public health training from the University of Cambridge, U.K. He has also undertaken advanced training in climate-responsive public health, including the “Climate Ready Classrooms” faculty development programme and the Eastern Mediterranean Climate and Health Responders through programmes organised by Columbia University and international public health networks. Currently, he serves as Professor and Director of ADARSH Project at PHFI, focusing on the development of medical specialists through the District Hospital Model in six states. Prof. Nair has authored over three dozen publications in reputed peer-reviewed international/ national journals and has led over a dozen externally funded research projects as Principal Investigator or Co-Principal Investigator. He has supervised five Ph.D. scholars and one MD (AYUSH) thesis. He also serves on the Postgraduate Board of Studies at Maharshi Dayanand University and the Governing Council of the Indian Institute of Public Health–Gandhinagar University, Gujarat.
